Bookkeepers & Tax Professionals, like all providers of personal financial services, are now required by law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. Bookkeepers & Tax Professionals have been and continue to be bound by professional standards on a fiduciary basis of confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by law. Therefore, I have always protected your right to privacy.

Types Of Nonpublic Personal Information I Collect

I collect nonpublic personal information about you that is either provided to me by you or obtained by Victoria Meyers; aka I’m The Bookkeeper with your authorization.

Parties To Whom I Disclose Information

For current and former clients, I do not disclose any nonpublic personal information obtained in the course of my practice except as required or permitted by law. Permitted disclosures include, for instance, providing information to my employees and independent contractors and, in limited situations, to unrelated third parties who need to know that information to assist me in providing services to you (Your tax accountant for instance). In all such situations, I stress the confidential nature of information being shared.

Protecting The Confidentiality and Security of Current and Former Clients’ Information

I retain records relating to professional services that I provide so that I am better able to assist you with your professional needs and, in some cases, to comply with professional guidelines. To guard your nonpublic personal information, I maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with my professional standards.

Outsourcing

I will use third-party service providers in serving your account. I may share confidential information about you with these service providers but remain committed to maintaining the confidentiality and security of your information. Accordingly, I maintain internal policies, procedures, and safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. In addition, I will secure confidentiality agreements with all service providers to maintain the confidentiality of your information and I will take reasonable precautions to determine that they have appropriate procedures in place to prevent the unauthorized release of your confidential information to others. If I am unable to secure an appropriate confidentiality agreement, you will be asked to provide your consent prior to the sharing of your confidential information with the third-party service provider. Furthermore, I will remain responsible for the work provided by any such third-party service providers.

Personnel in the Engagement and Privacy of Records

I will personally handle all aspects of the engagement and will exercise overall control and management of the engagement. I do not anticipate disclosing your information to any other person or entity, except as listed below, or using any other personnel or subject matter experts at this time. If my work plan changes, I will notify you in advance in writing.

I retain and contract Gusto Payroll as a third-party payroll processing service that is believed to meet all security and privacy standards in this field. This company will have access to your private records. The payroll processor will communicate your private records to government entities and their contractors that are responsible for collecting payroll taxes.

If I later recommend that my work should include the presentation of your personal, private or tax information to any other person or entity then this disclosure will be presented to you in writing and will not be attempted without your written approval.
